THIS IS
ELEVATE98

A new fitness experience where you can expect community, flexibility to suit your life and most importantly enjoying the gym!

Dim the lights but never turn them off…

Elevate98 Turns FIVE!

Yes… 5 years old this November (keep an eye out for the details on the celebration).

Somehow it feels like I’ve aged 20 years in that time, yet it’s flown by in a flash.

For most of those years, my “balance” has been heavily weighted toward work—building Elevate98 and our team. But the last few months have looked very different…

1️⃣ A New Role I’ve Always Wanted

About 6 months ago, I was offered a part-time role consulting with coaches and gym owners to help them improve their services.

This is mega for me—it’s something I’ve always been passionate about.

One of our big goals at Elevate98 is to eventually help 1,000+ people every month on their health and fitness journey. By improving other coaches’ services, we get to help even more people—indirectly but on a big scale.

Of course, that meant learning the ins and outs of 45 businesses before our big event last week… a LOT of work!

2️⃣ More Socialising Than Ever

Parties, concerts, holidays, special occasions—I’ve made up for lost time over the past few years.

And while I’ve been doing all this, my fitness hasn’t been the main focus. But here’s the important bit—it hasn’t stopped either.

The “Three-Legged Stool” of Life

I think we can only have about 3 main areas of focus at any one time. For me, that’s:

  • Work
  • Social/Relationships (friends & family)
  • Fitness

*Yours may be different.

The mistake I think people make is thinking all three will progress evenly every week or month, in my experience that’s unlikely.

-Summer holidays are kid focused.

-September is usually about your health and fitness.

-Christmas is for socialising.

Etc etc.

Instead, think of it like turning dials up and down—not switching them on or off.

Personal Example:

  • Jan–Mar: Work dial turned all the way up (covering shortages, dealing with the financial burden of site move, staff changes).
  • Feb–May: Fitness dial up (training for an ultra-marathon).
  • Social dial? Lower—but never at zero. I kept minimums: home by 6pm one night a week, family dinners twice a month, one friends meet-up a month, one short trip.

Recently, work & social dials have been higher, fitness lower. But because I’ve kept some training going, I’m not starting from scratch—I’m starting from maintenance. That’s a huge difference and will make it way easier to get back into the swing of things.

The Takeaway?

Life will get busy again—it always does.

When it does just remember, you’re adjusting the dials, not switching them off entirely.
