Don’t wait till Monday…

This email is one part apology, one part rant, and one part insight… so buckle up 😅

The Apology

One of the hardest parts of running a gym that genuinely cares is… waitlists.


They are impossible to fully “fix.”

Life happens—jobs change, routines shift, school holidays kick in—and all of this affects which sessions are busiest.

That said, we go further than any gym in Edinburgh to try and manage them. Covering shifts, messaging members, adjusting things behind the scenes, and even being strict about new joiners (our one in, one out policy) all exist to make sure our members get access.

But, even with all that, waitlists can still crop up. If they’ve ever caused you stress or hassle, I’m genuinely sorry. We’ll always fight to minimise them as much as humanly possible.

The Rant

The only day we consistently see issues? Monday.

Why?
Because no one ever “starts fresh” on a Thursday, do they?

By midweek, if people have had a “bad” week, they often write it off and push everything to Monday. But in doing that, they give up on more than 50% of the week, which is crazy.

If you burst two tyres, you wouldn’t slash the other two just for the sake of it!

One of the best things about being human is that you can start again whenever you choose—not just Monday, not just January 1st, not just “after the holidays.”

The Insight

If you find yourself stuck on a waitlist for Monday 6pm, do yourself (and me!) a favour: jump into a Thursday or Friday session instead.
