I have become OBSESSED with quite a morbid topic.
When adults of a certain age (somewhere between 65-75) fall over the risk of death is HUGE!
While this obviously makes sense, seeing some of the numbers around it are insane, particularly because in some cases it is preventable.
Strength training for older adults is SO important, it just takes on a slightly different role.
It becomes a bit less about how they look and a bit more about how they can live longer AND better (there is a lesson in there for all of us I feel).
I have a 78 year old couple I train twice a week and they are my guiding lights.
If I have the freedom of life, health and movement they have at that age I'll have done something right.
Anyway the reason I'm writing about it is this.
This Saturday we have a free workshop and (easy) workout for non-members.
This is to show them how much strength training can improve their life and where to get started at a real beginner level.
As a member, your family/friends/loved ones (or even people you hate) are welcome.
It WILL NOT be a sales pitch, simply a chance to add some value.
So if you or someone you know would like to come simply drop me a line.
It's this Saturday at 1pm in the gym.
13 Edina Place, EH75RN.
