Look, 'community' is the in thing at the moment in the fitness world.
Everyone (including ourselves at times) waxes lyrical about their 'community' and how you should want to be a part of it and there are lots of you who do which is cool!
That said, there are a lot of you I know are thinking that you don't really give a s**t and you just want to feel healthier, have more energy and maybe improve your body composition a little along the way.
This is also totally cool, your goal and your reasons are your reasons.
Ultimately most of us get involved in health and wellness to feel better about ourselves rather than for a community.
There are loads of benefits of social exercise but I'll save them for another day.
What I will say is that this James Clear quote feels very apt at the moment.
'Be in a room where your desired behaviour is the normal behaviour.'
So if you want to eat healthy, go for lunch with the crew at work who are making good decisions around nutrition.
If you have draining people who always complain impacting you mentally, you may have a call to make on the company you keep...
What you will find at Elevate98 (or most decent training focused gyms) is a group of people on a similar path.
I have long said that the strength of our business is that we DON'T offer any open gym to non-members.
This means everyone is working toward their own goal but in an environment conducive to it rather than an enviroment which makes it more difficult.
We are running a winter challenge which we have almost 35% of members involved in.
That means that while friends and family may be 'winding down' for festivities our members are in an environment where they are encouraged and held accountable (in a friendly way) to keep on top of their health and fitness with attendance targets and bonus points on offer in a team format.
Just consider whether the enviroment your in has people working towards the same things you are...
