Now that we're into December I feel I can touch on how to approach it (and maybe start considering Christmas songs in the gym).
The reality is in the fitness industry are ALL OVER social media portraying one of two messages:
Message A- The winter is where summer bodies are made, stop being soft it's just the same as any other time of year (in my mind I'm picturing an AL Pacino style Any Given Sunday speech with the odd appearance from David Goggins with references to the 'winter arc').
Very much a message of motivation and telling you not to slack,
Message B- Be kind to yourself, it's a time where progress will slow and that's okay. You've got all your life to get in shape so you may aswell enjoy some mulled wine and mince pies.
As is usually the case at Elevate98 we come out somewhere in the middle (although maybe leaning slightly more toward message B).
The reality is this time of year is different for everyone.
Most of us will have more social events going on and there will naturally be more occasions where we are inclined to eat and drink a little more which may not be 100% congruent with our health and fitness goals.
However for a lot of us this may also be a time of year where we have more time.
Work may quieten (or you may be off completely) which can mean you have more time to exercise.
You may also just feel like you don't want to feel sluggish and want to get a 'head start' on your health and fitness goals going into the new year.
Whichever camp you fall into is okay! We are all adults and can make our own decision.
Just make sure when we decide which route to go down we're making the choice for OURSELF and not down to societal pressure (one way or the other).
P.S. Elevate98 is BOUNCING at the moment with our winter challenge. It's great seeing members get on so well even into Decemeber.
That said we do have our Pizza and Quiz Xmas night on the booking system for December 13th so make sure you get booked in!
