CAMERON BEGBIE
I started my coaching career in 2020 when Elevate98 was in its infancy.
I first started going to the gym in my early teens, when I was mainly looking to improve football performance. Now, my training is more centred around triathlon and Hyrox performance. As well as focusing on moving as well as possible, and bulletproofing the body for endurance events.
Since starting at Elevate98, I have refined my coaching expertise and gained invaluable knowledge within the fitness industry.
As someone who’s worked in 9-5 office jobs and dealt with many (many) injuries personally, I feel able to relate to the day to day gym goer quite well and the daily struggles they face.
I’m currently in the 5th of a 6 year Sport and Fitness Degree with the Open University. I enjoy educating people around the benefits of strength training and pushing the ‘9-5 athlete’ to things they never thought possible!
SEAN MCKIRDY
You’ve obviously heard my fitness story and reasons for starting the gym but here’s a little about me:
I started of with the same dreams as many other young people of being a pro footballer.
I was very fortunate to play for my boyhood club Heart of Midlothians first team on 6 occasions (I’ve probably just alienated half the people reading this haha).
I got into fitness from spending time with expert strength and conditioning coaches through football.
I now enjoy working out to take my mind of the trials and tribulations of running my own business.
Away from the gym I am a total coffee snob, love a holiday and am partial to a dramatic Netflix series!
SAM CAPES
Starting off as a 17 year old receptionist I worked my way through the ranks at Elevate98 and have now been a coach at the gym for just over three years.
With a sport heavy background, having played football for most of my life, health and exercise has been something I’ve been passionate about from an early age.
As much as I value health and fitness I also value balance and feel that the gym shouldn’t be something you dread. Making the gym a fun and friendly environment is definitely a top priority for me.
SAM MULHERIN
Hailing from the land down under, I’ve grown up with a passion for team sports and movement. I took this passion and completed my formal education at university, studying Exercise and Movement Science and have since worked in the industry for 7 years.
I love teaching and seeing people grow, reaping the rewards of staying on the journey. It’s amazing to be able to help people through health and fitness, I’ve quite literally seen people change and transform their lives for the better through this incredible vehicle.
No matter where this industry takes me I will always strive to teach and help those around me.
CAROLINE BLACKHALL
I’m Caroline and have been a long term member turned coach at Elevate 98. I have always had a keen interest in Health and Sport, studying Physical Education at Edinburgh University and latterly completing my PT Level 3 with Sean. I continue to Lead a Physical Education department, alongside my role as a PT with lifelong health and wellbeing as a driving focus in my practice. I enjoy working with clients of all ages, stages and experience and believe it is never too late to invest in your health and fitness.
Over my time at Elevate 98, I have had the opportunity to go on my own fitness journey and now have the privilege to support others on theirs as part of a strong and encouraging fitness community.
SARAH TWOHIG
Hi I’m Sarah originally from Co. Mayo in Ireland I’ve been passionate about fitness and nutrition since I first stepped into a gym at 14. I studied Sports & Exercise Sciences at the University of Limerick and am currently finishing my master’s in Dietetics.
Before joining Elevate in January 2024, I worked in a small-group PT gym back home in Mayo, which cemented my love for the community-driven side of coaching—especially after spending time in commercial gyms.
RUTH NEVISON
Hey, I’m Ruth!
As a competitive swimmer turned female strength coach my goal is to help people feel empowered in their training while showing them their full potential.
I’ve struggled with training, nutrition and body image like most women have and I now use my experience to inspire women to ditch diet culture and create a healthy, balanced life style that builds a healthy body and strong mind.
